Michael van Gerwen Professional History
Van Gerwen won his first World Masters title in 2006 in his first televised title. The then-teenager joined the PDC’s Youth Tour in 2007, but would wait another five years for his second televised title at the 2012 World Grand Prix, when he won over Mervyn King in Dublin. This win proved instrumental to his career, and Van Gerwen has been the world’s leading darts player since 2013.
Following his explosive win in Dublin, Van Gerwen added impressive titles to his name in quick succession, including his first world championship in 2014 and a European Championship and second World Grand Prix title that same year.
Van Gerwen’s ranking domination has only strengthened since, with a win in the Champions League in Leicester in 2019 serving as his most recent televised PDC title.
